AR500 Armor’s stand-alone and multi-hit capable Level IIIA body armor family just got bigger with the introduction of the Slim soft body armor. As with the Rimelig and Hybrid offerings, AR500 100% aramid Slim armor is designed to defeat pistol caliber threats up to .44 magnum and .357 SIG at 1,430 feet per second or lower, as well as lesser pistol calibers. Flexible, affordable handgun protection.

AR500 Slim armor is made of 100% aramid construction and sits solidly between the Rimelig and Hybrid offerings. The soft armor panel is made from two separate aramid laminates working together to create an armor panel greater than the sum of its parts.

The symmetrical design of AR500 Slim armor gives it a bidirectional capability, meaning it’s perfect for use in a backpack, where you might use it on your back, or in front of you as a shield.***

Slim armor offers 100% aramid protection in a panel that is only 0.36″ thick and weighs only 1.25 pounds (10″x12″ ASC model). AR500 Slim armor is designed, cut, sewn, and assembled right here in the USA, and has a limited 5-year shelf life.

Specifications:

**Level II is rated to stop 124-grain 9mm FMJ RN bullets with a velocity of 1305 ft/s (± 30 ft/s) and with 158-grain .357 Magnum Jacketed Soft Point (JSP) bullets with a velocity of 1430 ft/s (± 30 ft/s)

**Level IIIA is rated to stop 125-grain .357 SIG FMJ flat-nose bullets with a velocity of 1470 ft/s (± 30 ft/s) and with 240-grain .44 Magnum Semi-Jacketed Hollow Point (SJHP) bullets with a velocity of 1430 ft/s (± 30 ft/s)

***Slim armor panels will still have a “strike face” label, though it will be equally effective from either side, making it perfect for use in armored backpacks or bags
